Judith I by Gustav Klimt (1901)

Judith I by Gustav Klimt was created in 1901. It’s medium is oil on canvas. The image tends to gravitate the viewer towards her face as that area contains the most detail where as the rest of the image is blurred. It takes a few seconds to notice that in her hands she is holding the head of a man. The use of shading kind of blurs that image out of the viewers peripherals.
