Asmodeo by Goya (1821)

Asmodeo by Goya was created in 1821. It is a oil based painting on gesso. It was one of 14 in Goya’s “Black Paintings” series which were painted directly on Goya’s house during the closing years of his life. Asmodeo uses dark tones and shading to insinuate despair. Film noir is used in this painting to make it rather somber.
